Nature
The landscape of Naxos is very diverse and varied. In contrast to the other islands of the Cyclades, Naxos is privileged with fertile cultivatable land.
It beautifully combines a majestic mountain beauty with the intensively cultivated agricultural plains, lush valleys of citrus and olive groves, pastel coloured coastal plains, kilometres of sweeping golden sands and unspoilt villages.
On Naxos there are two areas that were recently entered in the network “Natura 2000”, and were characterized as land of European interest: the island’s central highlands and the southern coastal zone (Zas-Vigla-Mavrovouni) as well as Aliki, located on the southwestern coast of Naxos
